Where did CLANG come from?
Yes, I have heard all the memes, he is the merciless physics god of Space Engineers, but I wonder when and where did he originate in Space Engineers, and why is their name "Clang"?

when you drop an item or block on another block, you hear a sound "clunk". Early space engineers described the sound as sounding like "clang" so they named it clang. Its named after the noise that blocks make when they hit hit each other.

It's the sound you hear right before your creation tears itself to shreds. The use of rotors and pistons is a grave sin, and Clang demands penance.

It's not Clang! It's High Lord Clang of the Order of Chaos.

The god of physics in this game as we know it. Clang shall decide your fate when you tamper with things beyond your abilities.

The real question, how can you have an order of chaos, surely that is like having the good knights of evil.

So you get my little play with words there, do you?

the highest lord in the SE universe - if lord clang is pleased you game will run smoothly
clang is simply based on a "metal clang sound" effect that will occur when one had a moving part (or more) build in a structure. the clang sound will played when 2 grids connected with a moving part will collide - in earlyer game versions hearing a "clang" mostly means the construction will explode or behave strangly due to the 2 objects coliding to each other wich often means something will break (badly)

so,may the mighty lord clang smile at you

Quote from the Book of Clang, right next to the big compendium of block rotation:
....those,who walked the shores of clang and came back alive shall be known as the childs of clang from that day forward to the end of all clangs

Amen!
:D fine

CLANG is to an engineer what BOOM is to a chemist. It's the telltale sound of catastrophic failure in what they thought to be a fool-safe design.

Before beginning construction on a questionable build I ritualistically ♥♥♥♥-talk on the Empyrion forums to appease Lord Clang. :steammocking:
U must connect on Trips Universe and Consulting the Oberlisk of Clang! 1x in Life!

if u are allready a Host or a Powerfully Admin is it a Plessure to build this, so all can colsulting the high Lord.

Usually, before I start on a project that has many rotors, pistons, or hinges; I make a sacrifice to clang. I gather one of my ships and apply a device that allows clang to unleash himself onto it (Landing gear with pistons at max force going into the hull) in the hopes of appeasing him.
