This here says a single large grid small ion thruster will carry 7000kg, I think the pod has 2 so 14000kg, might need a parachute and 5 canvases.
Edit: Just checked and it doesn't. 2 small atmos will however work for the pod with nothing else in it, so unless you load it up to the gills should work with materials too.
Find a spot that looks good from orbit (just outside the gravity well) then move all the forward and reverse thrusters to point down (leave the side thrusters for positioning) then use the upward d facing thruster to push yourself I to the gravity of the planet.
Don't think that will work, the lift capacity is just over 7 tons on earthlike per thruster and alien planet is 1.1g, this idea gives less than 49 tons of lift, a single large grid atmo has 66 tons and that didn't work, I needed 2 in my test. if not building atmos for the journey they will need parachutes.
I can land anything.... Once.

You are already in space where all ores can be found at 30Km around the Moon so all you need to build Parachute is there.
So much reading fail in the responses here...
The op said "the moon of the alien plan(e)t"
Standard current space spawnship - reconfigure the thrusters to get 4 pointed down and its fine, controlling the descent speed carefully.
