Spawning in blue cloudy void in multiplayer
So, like the title says, I have been trying to join a friends locally hosted server and it just keeps spawning me in what looks to be the center of the planet in a blue void with clouds. I can't do anything other than look around with my camera. No hud, no controls, nothing.

We have tried the following.

restart the server - good

Verify my game files - good

Uninstall and delete all associated files then reinstall - good

Test the connection on both local server, and dedicated - no change

Uninstall all mods just to be extra sure - no change

Even tried copying the world file, and moving over to my machine to see if I could even get in via singleplayer - guess what? NO CHANGE

In fact the world didn't even show up in my saves list, even while it is plainly sitting in the saves file.

It's also worth noting that through use of a world editor, I found my player profile just straight up doesn't exist in the world file. Thing is, I was able to play in this server for one day, and then this BS started.

We also experienced this on a separate world that I was never able to play in.

Google has turned up next to nothing on this other than one person who fixed it by restarting the server, and another who fixed it by switching to a faster internet connection, which shouldn't be even a remote issue since we're playing on local.

Does anyone have any idea what else I can try? This problem has been incredibly frustrating because I just want to play the damned game.

Hi, is it the same when you join one of the Official servers Vanilla Safe mode?

Test one with the best ping and tell me how it goes for you.

Info +

Some members were not able to play Public recently and here is what they did to fix :

1 - The problem was caused by router MTU being set to 1400 to my ISP gateway. Changing the MTU to 1500 fixed the problem.
MTU = Maximum Transmission Unit

2 - Turn off ASUS' ROG GameFirst < That one was reported preventing players to play on server.

3 - Also one member was stuck in space and could not see the respawn screen, he switched to Wifi to fix.

Test this :

1 - Go to game Options from main menu and disable "Experimental" to test the default game that is "Safe mode" especially made to have a better MP Perfo.

2 - Create a new asteroid world, use the "Red crashed ship".

+ Just for a test to see how it goes in a new crerated No Mods and No Planets world to have some basic data before testing planet worlds.

Thanks for responding with some possible fixes, but I actually got it figured out. It turns out Cloudflare's warp+ DNS program breaks things when trying to connect. I disabled that and everything started working as expected.
