why are hinges so faulty? how do i fix them?

ill make something, and it works for a while, then it randomly decides to stop functioning, no matter how much i increase torque, it wont move.

this keeps happening, ill make a mechanism with a functional hinge, and it will randomly fail/stop working later on, with no changes made

is there a way to fix this?

You could try switching the admin tools on for a second and copy pasting/pasting the blueprint back in to see if it fixes it :)

Sometimes, depending on what other blocks/mechanisms are involved, it may move out of the range limit for the hinge. Check to see if you have that message if you look at the hinge itself in the control menu, and unlock it. I had this problem several times with a ship door, because another door was pushing it past the hinge rotation limit and then it was basically useless.
