o2/h2 generator using ice constantly
im having an issue with my station.. the o2/h2 generator is slowly using up all the ice i have stocked up.

the only thing i have that uses ice is the medbay to refill the jetpack.

the ice i have is cargo container isnt depleting.. so its not melting away ;o)
on earthlike planet so one would think i shouldnt have to seal up my base airtight.. as the surrounding area is full of oxygen... right?

also i dont have any air vents or hydrogen engines/thrusters, so its not being used there...

curious as to why my ice in the os/h2 genny is melting away?

If you have a hydrogen or oxygen tank, or a hydrogen engine connected to your conveyor system, then the O2/H2 generator will try to fill those tanks. If not, then you must have installed the bonus 02/H2 generator that contains some ice-eating worm or something; exit SE and reload to see if that fixes the problem.

we'll see if a server restart fixes the issue.. if not ill be blaming your worms ;o)

If you are inside the air system of the station(Airtight space with Air Vent or cockpit of connected ship), the O2/H2 generator will fill up the O2 you just consumed by breathing.
You need to put yourself inside empty space, then check the station with antenna connection to see if it stop working

i think we may have figured it out.. brother is in a cryo chamber and logged out..

would that make the o2/h2 genny use ice to provide him with oxygen?

even tho the station itself is in atmosphere, the cryopod is a closed system feeding the offline player air...

Yes, the cryopod only receives oxygen only through the conveyor system. If you are in an atmosphere, you can add a vent set to drain to keep the oxygen supply topped off. This works even in low oxygen environments like the alien planet, as long as some oxygen is present.

so on earth planet with the cryopod.. all i need is a vent attached to the back port of the cryopod?
(and power on the grid of course)

Does the Cryopod store Oxygen? If not, then you also need a Storage Tank for O2. Ans set the Vent to "decompress", to suck in Air.
