edit----------
17:24 of the first video sums up their findings, if you don't want to watch those.
The dink I am referring to is low profile, and doesn't have much going in terms of aesthetics (no lights, just a thin rim with a tab for the AMD logo). When I built my computer, I used a third party heatsink assembly. Thing was a beast in comparison, in size. It also didn't have much going for aesthetics, but I had better cooling.
However, the dink is still useful for instances like when you have to find room on a micro ATX board for a significant graphics upgrade. But not everyone uses a micro ATX board, and not everyone is willing to drop how much they can overclock their processor. Heck, not everyone uses the same kind of heatsink assemblies anyways (some use water cooling for example).
Edit: oh, and technically, the dink wasn't compatible with my board.
