One way Door
Surprised not to find a door block that only works/opens from one side. Is this just not doable?

I figured that was probably what you are looking for. I have not seen such an item on the workshop, but it should be a fairly trivial modification to an existing block by just removing or disabling the controls on one side, unless you want it to be auto-opened by proximity.

No reason for it. You can set doors so they can only be opened by you/allies/anyone, you can also use sensors for a door to automatically open and close it with the same selections.

Depends on what you're trying to build. There are lots of ways to accomplish this. As Weaver suggests the control panel can be set for access levels, also sensors and timer blocks can give you lots of good options. There is also the Airtight Hangar Door that you have to set up a button panel to operate. You could also use button panels to lock/unlock doors by powering/de-powering them. You could also custom build large or small grid doors that use hinges, rotors, pistons and merge blocks. For some exceptional door designs that merge shut check out some of Mighty Brankor's workshop items. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198121468675/myworkshopfiles/?appid=244850

Interesting that such a request should only appear in these times... are you designing a station that is compliant with current social distancing rules ? ;>

No, :), but one with emergency exits and dedicated arrival and departure areas.

@Lander1, Basically an exit only or enter only door, regardless of access levels. I would think it would take enabling the hit box and/or placing the control panel only on one side. [Edited]

Just to be clear, I am looking for a door block not a construct of blocks that provide a door function.

Hi, maybe use a sensor that is set to open the door from the inside only and lock the door control panel to be used by you only. (don't share with Faction)

Edit

Just share the sensor with all. (Faction members)

You can use a timer block or sensor to close the airtight hangar door after you.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yep this may be the best workaround and I am doing something like that now. It just got me wondering why no one has created a one way door.

A lot can done and it just need a Engineer to try different concepts to find the working solution.

I made a lot of doors, some are set the SPRT Faction set to open with sensor for enemies only so all players can open using sensor only.

a lot more can be done ...

Yep that what I was thinking. I may check into it some more. If it is that simple I may give it a try.
