Mods to disable breathing?
Does anyone know of any mods to disable breathing sounds when realistic sounds are on.

"He's worse than dead, Jim! His brain is gone!!" --Bones

Sorry, couldn't resist. I haven't ever seen a mod for this.

i can tell you where the sounds are - they are at:
steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Audio\REAL\PLAYER

and start with RealPlayVocBreath

i don't know if the game will break if you remove or rename them - but someone good with audio stuff could make them silent audio files

i will also look and see if those files are referenced from the player data file - in which case they could be modded out

but if i can't it will be because:
"Ye cannae break the laws of physics cap'n" --Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott

ok - i worked out how to do it - let me know if you can make mods for yourself and i will tell you where the changes are - or i can see about posting it myself (all i did was set the volume for the 2 breathing sounds to zero)

Afraid I don't know how to make my own mods (Yet, anyway). Can try to learn. But I'd need to go through the learning curve first. If you're able to post it as a mod with what work you've already done, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you. I'll let you know how it works and load it into a test world. For personal use. my only gripe was the breathing sound, so I might not request any other noises. Other people might be interested in other sounds, though.

no worries - i only did that breathing loop - so not the out of breath sounds when you run - couldn't get it to play those in my test - but i was in creative so possibly they are only in survival

anyway - happy to help - is my first published mod for SE - so thanks to you as well :-)

If you ever make anything new, I'll keep an eye out.

Mod is working fine by the way. Loaded it up into a different world with 80+ mods and it's still working great

lol thanks :-)

i mostly just make tweaks to other people's mods for my own personal use, so was quite surprised to find something possible but that hasn't been done

so was glad to be useful :-)

anyway - glad it's working - and interestingly it does mute the out of breath sounds too - i suspect they are the same loop just sped up - but i will do some checking to make sure i haven't ballsed something up lol

:-)

Yeah. I was figuring it would be possible, especially after that one youtuber splitsie had a mod made to reduce the sounds of tools and guns.

yeah - that one came to mind - and i was sure i would be able to find something on the workshop - but if it's there it's hidden inside another mod - but it's there now lol

also i accidentally got rid of the out of breath sound too - would you prefer i leave it out, put it back in if possible, or not mind either way? (since if i push an update it will update your version unless you make it local)

whichever you prefer is what i shall do (since you did make the request lol)

If by out of breath, you mean no oxygen and you're taking damage, then sure, put it back if possible. I think it's fine to have it as a warning that you need to get to an oxygen tank fast. I just did not want to deal with it annoying me during otherwise optimal conditions.

If there is no feasible way to put it back, don't worry about it. I also won't mind the update. I'm in mod-testing phase at the moment, so repeated reloads is already happening a lot, lol.

no - the only additional missing sound is when you run with the visor closed and after a little while it plays heavy breaths until you stop running for a few seconds - no functional effect other than to remind you that you've been running for a bit lol

the suffocation noises should not have changed

so i have currently updated the description to make it clear what is now muted - and i will make another clarification that the suffocation noise is still there (after i confirm)

so let me know if you want me to put back in the breathing after running effect (it is a separate effect that i muted knowing in the back of my mind what it probably was, but only thinking about it properly when i wrote the description) - or otherwise i can leave it how it is - entirely your choice :-)
