shadow and lightS problemS
I come to you to know if you have found a solution for the lack of light inside ...
I literally built a whole base of several thousand blocks in a mountain. the update has plunged him into the dark ....
I can not put light on it, or I'll have to add thousands to it.

more than 800 hours of play in the shadows ...

One thing i recently stumbled across was aswell as increasing radius and intensity (From the old ad:) To The MAX, Reducing 'Falloff' to zero basically means the light goes everywhere and turned one of my large rooms into a glaring white blindness room :P

the second piture looks way much better imo, more immersive. Maybe you can't see s**t but looks great :p

EDIT: not sure, but the first picture looks like you disabled shadows

we can easily if we really look at the first image is not in shadow disabled, look at the bottom of the shed ...

the problem is that here you see only a tiny part of the base ....
here it is the entrance of the air vehicles. I would like this area to be as in the first image .... after all I made it so, I wanted it like that !!!! it would have been simple for me to remove spotlights to make this sheld darker.

not to mention the tunnels for moving wheeled vehicles on all the different pad, the other shed, the crew quarters, the control station ... the bunker, etc etc.

I can not literally add lights to every dark place.
and I have so many ideas still to apply, and so many places to finish like this sheld on the images.

 the worst is that this new light management causes bugs ....
the lights will flash from time to time according to your position in the base.

at every update I have trouble repairing automated machines, colors, etc etc
May I now have to rethink everything?

 I believe that developers do not know what they are doing when they changes some of the options that are changing their universe so much. this game is not new and it's same change are applied to thousands of creations. and they are no longer like the creators have done! and this is hard to accept when the same update adds nothing exceptional "my point of view" ....

why continue to create things that will certainly be destroyed by the developers ........ after playing 1200 hours i can say that , i like this game . but the development is very badly chosen and badly thought , except small exception.

the lighting system always s***ked in SE. and honestly I don't think this engine can do any better. hopefully they prove me wrong and finally fix it
Although, I prefer the darkness, it gives more sense of immersion. This is why almost everybody is asking KEEN to add settings to make the envionment darker or brighter by option. We know it is possible, there is already mods for that.

Radius, Intensity, Falloff + try adjusting your game setting, I have a space twice the size with half the lights :P works fine

and no fallof in projector on the setting . game setting don't help me to .
X4NT4STiK have you a screen of that place or création after the update ?


SpetS "the lighting system always s***ked in SE" .... is still not fixed! whether shadows or flash bug nothing works properly! Light management is crappy.

Personally I agree it's gone abit over board, the lighting needed work but it's had a little to much tweaking, before the inside of a Astroid was relatively bright and visible, now it's pitch black! Even when flying through with interior lights all over my ships on full beam to the point my eyes hurt I still cannot see the surrounding walls less that 100m to each side until I get within 20m of the surface witch at speed can be fatal :P i can not suggest treat the light setting in control panel ten go to you game setting and try fine tune your settings etc

Suffering the almst exact same problem, but for me it didnt happen with the graphics patch it happened randomly some time last week while building.

Light dosent bounce at all now. It hits the surface and dies. My shadow areas are pitch black dispite it being daytime on a planet and plenty of openings for light to get in.

Imagine opening the blinds and having light just from the opening, but 1mm away is pitch black shadow......light dosent work like that keen! it bounces and fills an area.....otherwise to light our homes we would need glass walls not just some windows scattered around....humph.....rant over :)

I think it may also come down to PC specs? My friends are all having issues on this topic we compared photos all stronger on the same settings and not one out of 5 of us seem to see the same visual with the same settings in our game options? :P

It very well could be down to pc specs. I spotted a new nvidia driver again today (only updated yesterday).....plz god let them have messed something up and fix it with this driver so i can build again....only 9 days left for this months contest :(

Lol! Yea I spotted it too when I logged on last night gona DL today, honestly bot to confident atm my drivers are always up to date, I think SE problem is they build it on a pc and perfect it for that PC and it spec only, anything more or less won't get the same performance as Devs and testers because there are playing it on the exsact vuild it was ment for :/ just a theory
