Weird consistent stuttering
Hey guys. Having fun with the game, but i have this weird issue, where i will get weird fps drops/stuttering every 5 minutes-ish consistently, and it lasts for like 20 seconds.

It doesnt matter what im doing in the game, it happens even if i am standing still. i have tried changing the graphics settings to no avail. It only happens in this game, i play games that are way more demanding (i guess, maybe SE has bad optimization) with no issues at all.

I have 2080s rog strix, 32 gigs of ram and an i9, so i dont think its my hardware... does anyone know what could cause this?

The devs mentioned a while back the games extreme settings were more for taking screenshots than playing, you could try taking settings off those if your using them.

Guessing with those parts you do have SE on an SSD? Could just be HDD asset loading stutter.

Any mods added recently that might mess with it?

Hi, share your save here so I can give it a try to find more clues on what is going on..

How to publish a world save :

1 - Select your save.

2 - Click the "Publish" button on the left.

3 - Skip the "Exploration" Tag cause that got rules to follow and click the OK button.

4 - Your world will be uploaded to Steam Workshop.

5 - Copy/paste the item link in here.

May be that or not :

Another member reported similar problem a few days ago and it was Windows searching for a external Drive (USB) that was disconnected.

I have similar hardware but I only have performance issues with the graphics on "extreme". Upload the save like mentioned above

Maybe auto save is causing stutter ? I have auto save enabled with no stutter, but may effect different PC's config. / software.
Not sure how often game auto saves. Should be option to disable.
Maybe Windows downloading something in background or another Steam game updating while running Space Engineers?

I'm gonna suggest you check your background processes, and make sure you don't have something hogging your system resources. I built my mother a computer a while back that should have handled any game she threw at it. For some ungodly reason she thought it would be a good idea to install one of those system monitoring apps from a survey site that would pay her 100 bucks a year to keep it installed. It used 80% of her CPU and crippled the system.

Not saying you do this, but similarly some "free preview copies" of games that are provided by peer to peer networks also like to install crypto currency miners on your system. Basically really look at what's going on in your resource monitor

Also if you modified the ore detector range beyond 300, it can cause similar issues to what you have going on

Hey! appreciate the reply! I have checked my temps and background processes but SE barely even touches my capacity, i have tried with steam and SE being the only running apps with the same result. Ill try the ore detecter suggestion! thanks again :)

Testing done so far = I did not noticed any "stuttering" in the save you shared.

I just played for an hour and no stuttering at all, the only "problem" I found is the info "Task" on screen that seems to be locked there for X reason = ??

I always play "Experimental" mode with GoodBot Disabled, I never see the Left "Quests" so that may need to be reported tho I will have to test more to find why it is "Bugged/locked" on screen :

So I don't know why you have that stuttering = ???
