lightning rod.
Somehow technical evolution failed.
+
Restart Steam (close and restart), go to world advanced setting, enable Weather and click OK to apply.
That should fix the problem you have.
Yes sure but using a "workaround" till it's fix is a good thing, too ;)
edit
Seems Decoys are not working with lighting.
Some players that have just started on a planet on my server just get frustrated.
I personally think that it´s just bs NOT having any protection from lightning when at the same time we have jumpdrives, ion thruster and gravity generators. What kind of technology is this supposed to be ?
By the way, it states in the update notes that "the decoy is the lightening rod of SE".
Others have mentioned that it's possible that a admin is targeting players.
So, if the base has decoys but you're still lightning's favorite target . . . I would suspect something was going on.
You are right about the Decoys tho one member (Jel) tested it and told me it was not working.
I just noticed it is specified in the new Official Weather Guide :

Edit
Thunderstorms can spawn on Earthlike and Alien. Thunderstorms are arguably the most dangerous weather for grids, though damage can be prevented if you know your stuff. Lightning in thunderstorms has a low chance of hitting your grid or player, if it hits your grid, you may want to have a decoy in place. Decoys are the lightning rod of SE, antennas will be struck if you do not have one. If you don't have a decoy or antenna, a random functional block will be struck with lightning. You can also prevent any lightning from hitting your grid by moving underground.
Digging now...
I'm on the "Lost Colony" planet, and while I've been playing today, it has rained non-stop. I mean one day RL. It's been a month on the planet...
You did say that's a bug, right?
Here a reply from Dev :

" I think the bigger problem right now is the bug that is causing weather to constantly spawn, this you guys are getting a lot more bad weather then you should. Like 3 times as much. "
