Okay did a bunch of testing, and found something thats worked. and maybe the problem.

I deleted SpaceEngeneer.cfg as you said previously in this post, when when trying to load the last world i started it said it was "in experimental mode" and to switch to it if i wanted to continue.

Problem is i had "experimental mode" unchecked before i deleted the config file. All the world advanced options that are apparently locked out of Experimental mode" were togglable before deleting the CFG.
Strangely enough i didnt realise "in game scripts" were experimental.
I also have no idea why it has secretly enabled experimental mode, as i didnt really change anything from the last time i played a few months ago.

Hopefully this is helpful. i tried to recreate it but its not letting me. Im not even sure what the conditions were to cause it apart from not playing for a few months.

I think the config reset has solved it, but the save i was trying to access was not modded.
I'll update if its still having issues. But so far its all stable.

Hi, try the forum workaround = first things to do =

> Verify the game files with Steam.
> Delete the CFG file.
> Delete the content of the ShaderCache folders.

_______

How to Verify integrity of game cache:

- Right click on Space Engineers in your Steam Library.
- Go to properties.
- Go to LOCAL FILES tab.
- Click Verify integrity of game cache
- When done try the game.

___________

Type in your explorer: %appdata%\SpaceEngineers
Go to the SpaceEngineers folder
C: users / your username / appdata / roaming / spaceengineers

>> then delete the ''SpaceEngineers.cfg'' file and try the game.

:alert: Doing so resets all SE options and controls to default.

__

ShaderCache folders are in appdata SE, same place above ^

I don't have much problems (very rare) on my side so I have no clues on why you got this problem and the best would be to report to the SE programmer, well if you want to help on finding what is going on.

Good to know you were able to fix :selike:

Just looking through the folders in Appdata, are there meant to be TWO ShaderCache folders?
And if i empty them what will it actually do?
Dan2D3D  [developer] Sep 17, 2019 @ 12:08pm
Yes 2 ShaderCache folders in there and it helped members having loading porblems so why it's in the first things to try.

Issue Still happening, after computer restarts it starts happening again. Strange. Testing shader folder being empty. Turned experimental on and off to test if it was on some how. No change.

Publish your save on the Workshop, tell me when ready and I will have a look at to see if I can load it.

You should test one of my saves too so would help to tell me if you can losd this one :

Try to load this Vanilla Survival and tell me what happened.

World has loaded: after removing the shaders in the two folders, and everything in the SE folder under "TEMP" (took a long time to load) The game still refused to load the world till the game was shutdown and reloaded.
Attempting to test your workshop world. standby.
Teamw0rk Sep 18, 2019 @ 11:13am
Restart tested.
Err okay.. now its saying my solo save is Experimental. I did not set it to that. Or save it in experimental mode. I did upload with experimental mode active.
Does that change the save files status?

Test on your save =

I did not noticed any problems in your save and looks like a good planet start :selike: :

I don't know why you can't load that save sometimes so I recommend to open a "Request for help" on the Support Portal and attach the complete log file of that event to your report.

Open a "Request for help" here > https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general

How to share the right log of that event =

Attach the log file along with description, it can be found here: C:\Users\{YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.log
or simply paste this into your Explorer:
%appdata%\SpaceEngineers
The log file should be from the game session where you've encountered the bug. If you start the game again, the log will be overwritten.

It doesnt seem to be just one save. Seems to be anything loading a world up, including the character customisation area in the main menu.
Dan2D3D  [developer] Sep 18, 2019 @ 8:04pm
You may share the complete log with me if you want, I may see something in there.

How to share the game log on Steam =

post log file to www.pastebin.com and share the link on forum

Hi, I'm also getting this problem still even with the above fixes. Happening on all worlds, modded or not. https://pastebin.com/iuQCm17m

It usually happens on too old saves or ones that have "Broken" Mods in.

It happens in a new created Offline world, too?

___

In your log =

Another > "ProcessorCount: 12" I have noticed those users have more problems that the 4 cores.

I recommend to open a "request for help" on the SUpport Portal if the community members workaround did not worked for you., here :
