Looks like your goal is 3.001 to 4.001km long.

A single line of 1201 to 1601 light armor blocks should do the trick.

Think smaller not bigger!

Because >> There is a fundamental limit to the number of physical shapes Havok can handle.

REF.: https://forum.keenswh.com/threads/1-181-0-physical-limits.7395205/

If you reach that limit (very very HUGE ship) = you will not be able to complete because the ship will become a ghost and no more block can be added.

All the hard work for nothing, you lose :steamsad: so build smaller.

You could have a look at what happens after reaching the limit :

Tho we can build absurdly big ships, that ^^ limit is HUGE.

I can fly, using the small ship you see on the left, at 100 m/s inside this mothership I made, it's Huge but not at the limit :

At 200 blocks long = I can complete and it's very playable (80 to 100 fps and 1.00 simspeed) , over that it's absurdly big and you may not be able to play with.

It's a good perso challenge tho :caster_wink:

Go to the info pannel for the grid often and check the physical shapes limit or you will just be dissapointed hundereds of hours down the line when you cant complete it ;)

On an just to clarify the shape limit is hard coded and cant be bypassed. People have alreay hit it so you cant go bigger than the biggest thing on the workshop

This is the biggest thing I ever recall seeing. 1.5km high and over a million blocks.

Certainly an impressive piece of craftsmanship, and I do like big ships, but I have to admit I'm not a very big fan of this particular style. They're impressive on the outside, but the interior is lacking so it's basically just a big metal shell and I find that kind of dull personally.

I understand the author of this piece said they would have liked to have made a more involved interior. I gotta admire their ambition and it's a shame they can't realize it.

I see the challenge though. Whatcha gonna fill it with? A few relatively small systems and any large ship is functionally complete.
MekaDovah Oct 20, 2017 @ 10:55am
Oh yeah, it'd definitely be a challenge. Making it functional is easy enough, but I imagine I'd run out of ideas of what to put in there after awhile. Then again I know one place to get ideas from:

"Fasten all seat belts! Close all shops in the mall! Cancel the 3 ring circus! Secure all animals in the zoo!"

Heh man now I actually want to build that particular ship...

A good part of that is definitely my own fault though: I like my ships interesting inside and out as well as functional and that's caused me more than a few headaches with my own ships. I've scrapped more projects than I ever finish because of that.

Denemi: from my trials, under current shape limit, there is hardly possible to finish ( i mean full detail in- and outside ) a ship longer than 800-900m
