Beat an interior turret
Hello,
Is it possible to beat an interior turret in survival ? If so how should I fight it ? Any tips ? I found an old blueprint and I'd like to convert it into a senario...
Thanks for the help ;)

Grind under it from outside or kill the reactor.

How about fighting it with a gun ? Not doable ?

I'm able to in some situations, must have a good cover.

Okay thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

Only possible by cheesing blind spots in the turret view cone.

It's not possible to just tank bullets straight on.

With any small ship or drone should be pretty easy to take an interior turret head on, though.

There are minimal odd angles that turrets have a hard time hitting you at if you use a wall as a guard. If you just poke out from the cover of the wall you can often put a few rounds on it before you pop back and there is a smaller chance of taking blows.

Also turrets can not shoot 'down', so if it is on a wall, say with the bottom facing to the left and the top of the turret faces the right, grind out blocks behind it, poke your head out and then you can likely just unload on it in safety.

If you are able to dig, you can also dig a ditch and crouch up and down to drop shots at it, but this may open you up to more rounds hitting you, or at least it seems so to me.

Another way is to use explosives or alike, which will do surrounding damage, but may take out the turret. This is one that I like most, it seems very effective and it has the highest rate of win / damage taken. The downside here is you can't always get the explosives where you need / how you need.

You can also just blast like mad and take rounds from an interior, if you shoot well you will more than likely outlive it. This can get troublesome when you do that, then find another 2-4 turrets however...

There is not likely one single sure fire way to go at it and be sure you are good, but a mix of options can help solve a mix of situations.

I've found I can peek around the corner and shoot a few rounds off in the time the turret takes to aim at me, then duck back. Wait a minute and it will look elsewhere, then I can shoot again. You can also just peek around the corner and shoot without getting hit sometimes but it's riskier. Usually I go for the power or grinding the block it's attached to since then I get the resources, but I'm also greedy like that.

It's easier if the turret is shooting at something else :LitLightBulb:

Like Legas said a small drone can be very handy :approve:

EDIT : sorry correction made ^^

I always take down ships with my drones, by controling them manually from small carrier nearby, and hunting down for reactors, once all dead, turret is not powered up. on planets is easy, I use atmo trusters on sort of defense flying station with rocket pods, and just rain fire on whole thing, resources from containers mostly drop after container get destroyed.

sorry for edits, i always do them, a lot, in a short time... bad habit :D

If you cannot get to where the turret is and you need to stop it, one thing to do is make something it will shoot at and let it use up it's bullets. The up side is that it can't fire at you afterwards, the down side is that you waist a lot of resources building and the ammo you could have gotten from it, but it is an idea if no others are available.
