Well hurry up. I'm turning blue while holding my breath.
Edit: You being new to the game, here's some additional resources you may find helpful.
Gasbandit's tutorials are very good at teaching the basics. The early ones are a bit old (before O2 and Waypoints) but still very good.

Once you've got the basics down, W4stedSpace has a really good planetary tutorial.

Finally, Sage has sagely advice for everything SE.

Oh and don't forget the wiki

Well that is a bit complicated but basically you need to build a ship capable of making that trip. A jump drive will permit you to jump over many kilometers of empty space but it is not required.
Take a look at the wiki under Thrusters and you'll see one is designed only to work in atmosphere, one only in space and one in both (but it consumes massive amounts of hydrogen.)
So, if you start on a planet you'll need to build a ship with thrusters that are first capable of getting you out of the planets atmosphere and gravity and also with thrusters capable of operating in the vacuum of zero-G space in order to move between two planets.
There are plenty of examples of such ships on the workshop so don't be afraid to download a few and see what makes them tick.
Ok. Well jump drives have a lot of limitations. You can't use them in natural gravity and they won't take you within more than 2km of any object or gravity field. But they can be used to jump a maximum of 2000 km provided your ship is not too massive.
All the data is in the wiki.
