LIke a real car = Engines need at least one battery.
Batteries are way better than Hydo Engine for Planet Atmos ships.
Problems :
1 - The Hydro Engine is not needed at all and drains the Hydrogen very fast.
2 - Too much Hydrogen thrusters used for only one Hydro tank.
3 - Hydro tank Stockpile was ON and that will not provide Hydrogen to the thrusters.
Stockpile was ON = not good :
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2109604731
It needs A LOT more O2/H2 gens with more Hydro tanks for the thrusters used :

And I would delete the Hydro Engine because it is not needed and it drains all the Hydrogen too fast.
Build a Atmos ship < Atmos thrusters + Batteries

= You will be able to add way more thrusters and have about 3 hours of flying time using 6 or more Large Batteries.

Hydrogen ships = Hard SE challenge to do and I recommend to practice in a creative world to gain XP before making one in survival.
(sorry double post I was busy helping other members)
The H2 ENGINE can produce electricity, but generally requires dedicated O2 gens to keep the gas flowing. Small-grid engine takes 1 O2 gen for full power operation, while the large-grid engine takes 2 O2 gens. This is for full power operation, and at that point, there is no extra gas being produced, as it's all taken by the engine. Yes, it also means that your ice will be treated like so much candy tossed to a flock of children.
For most craft, a fully charged set of batteries will work better, for lower overall mass.
The other nasty bit about trying to run H2 powered craft is the mass of the ICE. Breaking ice into gas is slow, and generally requires a lot of ice to be stocked. All that mass requires more power to be used in moving it, leading to more thrusters and gas production... which doesn't really end well. Gas, in a tank, is just a number on a readout, and doesn't actually count as mass. (YET. Keen may 'add more realism' later) If one runs just tanks full of gas and NO O2 gens, all that mass for ice goes away. Yes, it also means that if you've run out of gas somewhere, you're kinda screwed. It's also why we have a H2 gauge on the HUD when we're in a pilot's seat.
Thank you!
