Usual answers :
Small grid ore detector only goes to 50m. Use a large grid ore detector.
Look around more.
If you don't mind mods, there are mods that increase ore detector range by quite a lot.

The stone is usable and the survival kit can process some, so along with that and components from the lander you can work your way up from there. A basic refinery and basic assemblers should be among the first to build. Easiest way to spot ores is still to use the jetpack and fly up to look for dark spots and then investigate.
You mine stone with drill, stuff it into survival kit and refine it into materials, then build a base and other ships. You can also modify your starting ship to make it fly.
