Ore detector range
Hello everyone,

Is there a way to increase the range of the ore detectors. 50m for small ones and 150m for the biggest seems like a joke, don't you think?

I remember before the range was more something like 500m!

I use a (small design) large factor ship with the large ore detector set the max range of 1200M. That's all I need and my HUD isn't too cluttered with ore discoveries.

No there isn't. Although the large detector range does detect ore from about 220m. 500m would be too easy if you can just fly past asteroids and detect the ore in them. It turns it into a mini-game having to fly around asteroids making finding ore more rewarding.

some mods have 5 km range(but if u try them on a planet at max range your computer freeze

and 50 m isnt that bad
put it under a car close to the ground and drive around works fine(doing the same on a ship and scanning asteroids might be a bit risky)

The problem is that I started in space ahah. So the point is that I only find ore when it's not under stone. Maybe it's enough on a planet but for asteroid mining it's almost useless.
Today what I'm doing is going out with my space suit and my hand-drill and then bring my ship when I found what I needed.
But I have to explore several asteroids before finding even Iron with this method...

Maybe I'll go for a mod

And thanks for the multiple answers =)

Definitely get a Mod...it is way better and saves time hunting for ores. 🖖

you guys know you can use the antenna to scan too :P turn your antenna up to broadcast farther ..plus check to see if the option is checked in Antenna

The antenna does not increase the range of the ore detector. It only allows for the ore detector signals to be seen when you are not in a seat on the grid that has the ore detector.
