The new scenario is not fun.
I've been playing the Frostbite scenario for a bit and honeslty... It sucks. The scripted weather adds very little except for *CONSTANTLY* reducing visibility to less than 20 feet. I think it's been clear or only "light" fog maybe *twice* in over seven hours. The constant drone attacks add even more frustration because of how the scenario is built. I can't just set up turrets to defend against them (such as on a vehicle) because STORY CRITICAL buildings and blocks are sometimes hostile and need to be hacked.

Right now I'm at the Old Mining Base, and I have about twenty of the stupid bomber drones lying dead on their backs. There's another six or so hovering mindlessly because I somehow managed to "kill" them without crashing them. I've given up trying to salvage them because it's clear there's a script running that spawns another anytime I go near where most of them are crashed.

And now I've played a voice message that has apparently triggered a NEW kind of drone, gattling drones with rocket launchers. Which seem to show up about every two minutes. The first wave destroyed my rover (and only mobile turret) because I'd forgotten to turn the turret back on because it was wasting ammo ripping apart dead bomber drones. The second wave destroyed the MULE drone, and the third blew up the refinery.

Since it's pretty obvious the drones just spawn in and that there's no actual facility I can disable to stop their production... you know what? Screw this, I'm done. I don't know what the hell the intended progression is supposed to be, and at this point I don't even care anymore.

To whomever made this scenario: Turn down the weather. It should be clear or lightly cloudy most of the time, with OCCASIONAL storms to add variety. My only suggestion for the drones is to delete them. If someone doesn't care about salvage all they need to do is spam turrets and they aren't a threat. If they *do* want to RP or try to salvage then they're screwed. Yes, I know the drones were meant to be a threat in the backstory. I DON'T CARE at this point.

But do whatever you want. I stopped having fun with this scenario HOURS ago, and I'm done wasting my time with it.

Same here, it is not fun. Plus it lags with it's scripts and i don't like it, my CPU and memory card is dying when loading these scripts.

i sat and watched the auto car thing that transports between bases, just fly around in the air and follow me around. its neat but... it kinda dont work right.

Protip: These scenarios are much more fun with friends (and a lot easier, since you'll have backup).
I'm having a ton of fun with it with a friend joining me.

I have to assume that's how they tested them. (Making the generous assumption that anyone other than the designer who knows all the tricks for defeating it *DID* test them.) However, I'm neither interested nor in a position to play the scenarios in multiplayer. I don't personally know anyone who plays games, let alone this one. I have no interest in playing with random strangers. And since my schedule at the moment is high irregular, I'd have to rush through and finish the scenario as quickly as possible in one sitting. Because I have no idea when I'd have the chance to play it again.

Hello on my side maybe i got a previous release but i am playing it and no issue or big deal with drones, maybe it's also the way / order you do stuffs :

- First base, repair the turrets, it's needed anyway for end of mission
- Try to discover every place you see, you get lots of ammos for the turret on the big rover
- Most of drones are broken / dumb AI and will just crash near you so just dont be too much static.
- You just need to make your way in the undergrounds facilities, and you will get here extra weapons and trucks.
- You could add an "increased armor / decreased damages" mod or just tweak yourself the ammos.sbc file so it's less paper armor effect. The mounted small gatling turret could just kill most of theses drones in less than 5 seconds

About vehicules the first one you found with a turret on top could handle lots of damages even without a damages mod, just repeair it after each fight

About solo i made all with sadly poor dificulties untill the last battle that need lots of turrets defenses builts so i beleive at some point you just go to fast and trigger then all IA drones on you ?

So if you could not compete with currents drones you encounter try another way to play this scenario as the last battle will really offer you a big challenge (heavy drones instead smalls)

I checked two or three dead space engineers and a half dozen deck cargo boxes and they all showed me in the inventory of a locker. This was in one of the buildings in the starting area. Anybody else have this issue?

will post also here about "challenge" and difficulties, the whole mission is adding a damage decrease by 75% on player and will apply strong damages % changes on lots of drones like 40 times more damages so they explodes after 1 or 2 hit. From that point it's not really hard to play it, if scenario scripts are running of course.

I have this weird issue that my shots do hardly any damage. I’m just wasting ammo. I have watched streamers at the same story points and they take down turrets and drones by shooting at them (or maybe their truck’s gatling turret did).

Does the precise rifle just have a very low range??

The pass up to the peak is so riddled with missile craters that I ran out of materials fixing it. Sometimes the drones just harmlessly crash above the pass, and sometimes they stop and circle back and aim straight at my new bridges, while my new turret blindly throws ammo into the air, grrr. ;)

In the fog I often use the method that I walk and leave numbered gps points behind like breadcrumbs. The sad thing about the fog is that we can’t see the nice buildings! I guess it wants us to crank up the spotlights to 11. I have had several moments where it cleared up and the map was really beautiful. In other news - missile drone explosions provide ideal illumination, alas only for 2 sec. ;)

Yesterday I was so annoyed by not hitting any shots that I switched into Creative mode to at least explore the map.

Having drones as enemies is not wrong, it’s just ... too binary. One second I can grind down doors unchallenged, and in the next my truck is a crater and I fly off a cliff. Why is there nothing in between?

If you don't have the icon that looks like a space engineer selected above the inventor on the right side, then the cargo boxes will all look empty and the window will show multiple inventories in a list.
Yeah that’s bad UX design, and a very common question.

Maybe you have a broken script start as theses drones should just explode after few shots... i had to remove the malus of *40 damages to end the scenario without feeling to kill papers ships. Also end of scenario seems a little "empty" it's a little unfinished for sure.

There’s a scripted malus? :-o
Speaking of scripts, I filed a bug because some script in this scenario is beeping over and over. Even if I start from scratch and during cutscenes. Me thinks this needs a patch.

Yes you have several bonus and malus :

- When player spawn : a player bonus of 750%
- When player use a vehicule (not remembering but its maybe 750% on vehicule)
- When a drone IA enemy spawn : all resistance decrease by 40 times on the enemy drone

About Beeping, when a critical module is damaged or lost the script should send beeping sounds.

So all is done in order to make new players a very very easy fight model, if scripts are not broken of course as without script bonus / malus you get a real challenge

i added a /600 damage reduction on all blocks by mod, and removed the *40 malus on drones so the last battle really need to build defenses on the base in order to finish battle

You can turn off the weather open weathereffects.sbc i just reduced fog to zero.. The bigger problem for me atleast is i got 4 data containers at the landing site and nothing happen. Is this like the lost colony scenario is there no ending to this one too. I don't need a pat on the back but a final cut scene might have been nice.

I like this game and dont mind a few paid dlcs but free scenarios seem more thought out and better designed. I would think they would be good at it after all it is there game ?

when the 4 pads are on the landing site a new event is triggered. What about the datapad 4 did you took the one of the production line ? and how did you moved it ? seems the number 4 is not the good one, you need 4 data pad not damaged / broken

Thanks for the reply Yes the first from the production I took with the pick up like truck I do not think it was damaged. The other 3 I used the semi trailer and went from the door at the second elevator I traveled with the drone escort and I put gats along the way to cover my journey. I had the fork lift attached to the back and off loaded short of the bridge to the pad the bridge was to thin for the semi
