Auto dampeners

I'm playing with a controller. How do you turn on the auto dampeners?

Your welcome, it also works the same for jet packs. If you get out of the cockpit or seat of a moving grid your jet pack should switch and and engage auto dampening without you needing to press the keys.

How do you activate auto-dampening with a keyboard? I'm trying to catch a moving satellite.

It's the "Z" that we also see using Tab to show keys on screen :

To auto dampen to a ship hold CTRL key and press Z when cross hairs on target, you will need to be within approx 200m of the target. Works best when you are chasing with a small grid can be tricky to acheive with a large grid ship.
