Thruster damage range
Hello,

Thrusters have a damage range that is not same for all ones presents in the game. As I know the fastest way to get the damage range of a thruster is to put a line of light armoured blocks in front of the thruster's output and see how many explode (or put a block, check with a hand welder if it takes damages and remove it in case it goes to explode)

Another way is to use the builder info mod and check the maximum length of the thruster's flame, but I'm not sure if it's only for the visual or if there is a link between the length of the flame and the damage range.

So I tested all small thrusters with the first method, from the smallest to the largest ones, and thanks to that I built many ships. The second method confirms the result I obtained with the first method, but as said before I'm not sure. But I continue to verify again and again with the first method. I want to be sure and that's why I ask this question:

Is there one or more cases where thrusters inflict damage over than their respective and supposed damage range, excepted an update of the game?

for excample
dampers use 100% of the power
if u fire them manual its less

and hydrogen thruster have a longer flame

That used to be the case, it's not now.

I made a test with a falling ship with active damper and only one atmospheric thruster as damper, and next with hydrogen thruster. I placed a light armoured block one block over their supposed damage range, 1 block away for the atmospheric thruster and 2 blocks away for the hydrogen one.

Then with dampeners set to relative I checked the integrity of the block all along the fall. It stays at 100%. Same if the ship is on the ground with active dampers which act as it's falling. Also the ship has sufficient power suppliers to power thrusters at 100%

Be mindful that when making these tests to do them in survival mode, I noticed in creative that the blocks don't suffer damage (least they didn't when I tested it a few months back)

Same results on my side in survival.
There are some small blocks which are immune to thruster's damage, some of the heavy armour blocks, not all, and blast doors for example, where their larger version take damage.

You can turn Thruster damage on/off. I play a lot in creative and keep it on, to prevent myself from creating a ship, that will destroy itself in survival.^^'
