how to get connected ship thrusters to fire with the main thruster.
so i built a ship that gets two miners into space then detaches them but i dont know how to get the connected ships to fire with the main engine. the main engine has barely enough thrust to go up nonetheless keep it up

if you want the miners to be controlled at the same time as the rocket ship you'll need to merge them to it with merge blocks, then all their thrusters will sync with controls for the big one. Problem is the big ship is probably large grid and the miners I'll assume are small grid making merging impossible.

So alternatively you can make the thrusters pointing down on the miners into a group and have their override set to 100% and then click the button for that to turn on in the toolbar.

Or you can just add more thrusters to the big ship.

il give it a go. how do i get them to merge? just slap a merge block on a piston and slowly move it into the ship until it connects? lol but also thankfully they are all small grid so that makes this easier.

Piston heads are another grid. Same goes for rotors. So that won't help. You can however use pistons to help direct (pull or push) the other ship's mergeblock to get closer to the mergeblock of the main ship.

Hi, is the "mothership" large blocks with small block ship conneted?

Use "Merge" block, but it works only large on large or small on small.

______

I made a small block Dropship so I can merge small ships to it to be able to use their thrusters and gyroscopes.

I use to merge small ship that adds Hydro tanks to my mothership for example.

This one can also merge small Drop Pods and use all its thrusters, gyros, betteries, reactrors that act as a "Booster" when connected :

Edit

Sorry I made some corrections.

Have You tried connectors between the ships? idk never tried it, but may be worth a go?

i figured it out thanks to the above posts. i needed a connector AND a merge block to do what i wanted. that way i could connect their resources and also use all their engines.
