How to make an assembler without an assembler?

I just started the game for the first time in a long time. Now instead of ships that have refiners and assemblers you get a drop pod. So I need to make an assembler and refiner and power for it. Well I need an assembler, to make the parts for the assembler. Am I the only one who sees the issue here? I assume there is some other way to make the parts but I cannot figure it out and waiting for hours for enough unknown signals to scrap is annoying. So what am I missing here?

TL:DR: How do I make the parts for the assembler without having an assembler?

Survival kit. it's designed to take stone and refine it into ingots you need to create basic assembler and refinery.

Eoin, the Survival Kit doesn't just process stone into ingots, it makes very basic components as well.
