Set aditional assemblers to Co-Op mode.
Also note that a speed module is only listed as using 1 PCU versus the 40 of an assembler, so beyond a certain number of machines speed modules could save a reasonable chunk of your computer's attention. Good to know if you want a big facility but aren't running a beastly machine or playing on an amazing server.
EDIT: Speaking from experience, it's also not a good idea to purposely use the assembler to hold components. You risk getting it backed up with stuff that can't be used on what you need at the time, freezing production. Best to keep the assembler clear and let it pull what it needs when you queue things up instead.
In other words, it depends on your needs.
