Can't seem to complete the Learning To Survive scenario / tutorial mission.
I wanted to complete the mission, just to finish it (and for the achievement, and because in a recent video from the developers they mentioned that completing it unlocks a skin for the Engineers.)

But I can't seem to find all the objectives. There's no list, I have no idea which ones I'm missing, and the last two were actually outside antenna range of the starting area. And of each other. Now I'm concerned that either there's another objective button on some random asteroid somewhere. Or possibly that the scenario isn't counting it as "complete" because I've got Experimental Mode enabled so that I can use scripts with the Programming Block in my actual survival game.

Has anyone completed this? How do I make sure I found all the little tutorial scenes, when there's no list and several of them are outside antenna range of everything else?

I was doing the scenario again to get the no Deaths Achievement, and the Destroy the Pirate Base without enter the atmosphere Achievement. and was making GPS for the tasks, looks like someone else already has.

I have 2 useful GPS coords that are nearby the planet though. People may find them very useful.

Extremely useful Asteroid, Large Ice deposit, Also Cobolt, Nickel and Silicon. Closest other asteroid has Iron. 89km from planet.
GPS:Ice Asteroid:1524326.08:-2926062.38:-3689606.4:

Planetary orbit position outside gravity well aligned directly above piarate base.
GPS:Orbital Bombardment Position:1522038.99:-2925222.69:-3695180.38:

This is really close to the gravity well so might want to approach it while it is between you and the planet directly if you want to avoid touching the planets gravity field. Touching the gravity field of the planet counts as entering the atmosphere. This gps is within 50km of the pirate base so its well within the max antenna range.

Thank you! this will help a lot in my playthrough!

Your Welcome. BTW, just went and checked the gps for above the base is only 2.9m outside the gravity well so be careful. It is 35.7km above the surface though.

Do you have GPS for pirate commander?

I'm afraid not, im no good at combat. and even though i destoyed the Pirate facility they last task didn't show up.

Can't seem to trigger the pirate planet Base despite jumping to the hidden Base asteroid with the jump drive

It seems like you have to have finished all the other objectives before it will trigger. I missed the Combat one the first time, and the coordinates for the planet never popped up. It's a fairly small planet and it's a really long way away. I don't think there's much chance of locating it until the objective updates. And the way the scenario is set up, there likely isn't much point in heading there unless the objective triggers properly by itself. :(

The initial objectives are set up like a tutorial, but destroying the pirate base and Argentavis drone cruiser will take a lot of building and preparation. Especially if you want the achievement for doing it without dying, and without letting your Engineer touch the planet's gravity well. At least I think it's only your Engineer. Killing the base would be pretty darn difficult if you can't use drones or drop kinetic missile ships on it. Bombing things with ore chunks no longer works, because apparently ore-balls no longer do any damage to grids.

Thing is though all objectives are blue, not one single yellow flag to find despite going all around the asteroids although won't hurt to find the ladt hidden one thanks for the input appreciate it

Just in case have restarted might trigger this time all being well
ExpletoryJoker Mar 7, 2019 @ 10:08pm
Resolved now got it to trigger instead of me getting triggered

Yeah I have tried to complete this three times now at the long expense of my time. The tutorial always bugs out after reaching the objective markers for an assigned tasks. I am referring to the blue markers for example move drone here or find the hidden base. I gave it a good try three times and that was enough effort from me.

Oh and for those who did not know. You can turn on creative mode in admin controls to speed up the whole process a little. (spawn in a battleship, welder ships, or elite tools)

Yeah very handy those admin tools especially invincible mode :steamhappy:

Also who's bright idea was it to park the pirate Base planet 5000 km away :steammocking:

The scenario will give you the gps for the pirate commander. Need to really pummel that pirate base to get it to trigger. I don't think it is about the antenna or beacon getting destroyed, I think you have to de-power the grid.

I used this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1674289631 , it failed first try. Got to close and the camera got destroyed. I added a butt load of decoys held out away from it that did the trick to keep my guns safe while they did their work. Just let it hover over head until the completion triggers.
