Oh and the not dieing one.
I literally played thru every change and new things first hand in survival worlds.
I have 1300 hours clocked in.
I have no reason to complete a tutorial
The skin is worth it.
From what I can tell, completing this scenario requires some serious SE skills, a measure of luck (to avoid bugging the scenario), and a ton of persistence. So, as a new player tutorial, it fails spectacularly.
Also, for those that say the mission indicators disappear on them, try going back to the platform you started from (you should be able to see it). I've noticed that once you go down the "Drone Control" path or the "Ship Building" path, you can't see the other path at the end of the one you chose to go down first. However, if you return to the platform, you will once again be in range.
But psst... if you are truly stuck...
Alt+f10 opens up Space Master, the SE Admin Mode. If you click the dropdown and click entity list, you can take a stab at which grids are tasks you haven't done yet and even teleport to them. But be aware, this is Space Engineer's admin mode and is kind of cheaty in survival.
Now to go hunt the commander.
