Nobody has completed the Learning to Survive scenario...?
When I look at the new achievements, has really nobody completed "Promoted Engineer" and "Engineering Degree" (and also "Planetesphobia" and "It Takes But One")? :steamsad:

Says zero percent. That's kinda sad and surprising! (On the other hand, that means I could still be first...) ;-)

Ah I have. Must be a steam bug. The only achievement I didn’t get was the one for disabling the pirate base with entering atmosphere. Planetsphoebia.

Oh and the not dieing one.

I have a few bugs that crash my game now and then when I kill certain NPC vehicles, making it impossible to complete the scenarios. Maybe reinstalling would fix it, but I'd rather wait to find out if it's a bug that cant be patched before trying to repair/reinstall for a few hours. That's the only reason I haven't gotten them, I would assume it is stopping many other people too.

I been playing this game since the first time it came out as early access.
I literally played thru every change and new things first hand in survival worlds.
I have 1300 hours clocked in.
I have no reason to complete a tutorial

It's called achievements, Thomas. You should collect them.

The skin is worth it.
I imagine it's because so few players have done so that it doesn't compare to the amount of owners that own the game (a number of whom may never return).

thanks for your replies, I hope it's just a Steam bug and not unsolvable...
Lasombra077 Mar 3, 2019 @ 10:39am
I've done it twice now to get the skin, after doing all the tasks it doesn't say I've completed it. Not sure if its bugged or what. No more tasks but no skin...

doing it but i have a bug that prevent me to go further. in the part of remote control ican repair the remote control device but adding an antena on the drone does not validate. I can control the drone but still say place an antenna on the drone....

I'm another one who started the scenario, but bailed after the mission indicators all disappeared on me.

From what I can tell, completing this scenario requires some serious SE skills, a measure of luck (to avoid bugging the scenario), and a ton of persistence. So, as a new player tutorial, it fails spectacularly. :steamfacepalm:

My achievements have been stuck at 40% for a really long time. I couldn't even get Lost in Space to update completed after spending an entire weekend thousands of km from anyone else on official servers.

I'm doing that scenario right now, I've been able to complete all of the tasks (pretty sure I have, I got an achievement for completing something related to this scenario). I'm just working on the pirate outpost, the final boss if you will. Just not sure what it means by "Disable the outpost." Does it mean remove all power sources? What about the independent grids that surround it? I suppose it doesn't help that I'm doing it all through drones to get the achievement for not entering the atmosphere. I would've been going for the 0 deaths achievement as well if it wasn't for the doors killing me (grrrrrrrr.).

Also, for those that say the mission indicators disappear on them, try going back to the platform you started from (you should be able to see it). I've noticed that once you go down the "Drone Control" path or the "Ship Building" path, you can't see the other path at the end of the one you chose to go down first. However, if you return to the platform, you will once again be in range.

Pretty sure disabling still means disable or destroy beacons and antenna.

The indicators are limited by distance, and pressing H too many times can turn them off on your HUD; if you travel to all of the places you've visited, you should eventually be able to spot the missing indicator. I personally haven't seen them disappear for other reasons than distance.

But psst... if you are truly stuck...
Alt+f10 opens up Space Master, the SE Admin Mode. If you click the dropdown and click entity list, you can take a stab at which grids are tasks you haven't done yet and even teleport to them. But be aware, this is Space Engineer's admin mode and is kind of cheaty in survival.

I just disabled the pirate base. I was trying to go for the related achievements but I died trying to capture a ship for resources so the no death is out. I used a remote gun platform and dropped it on the base from orbit. But I didn't get that achievement. Does the gravity well count as the atmosphere? While i was aligning for my orbital station build i dropped a few lines of armor blocks and observed with my drone camera that i got really damn close missed the antenna with one by 4-5 blocks, it went through the facility and cratered the ground beneath and was still sticking out like a nasty arrow. It helps that the planet GPS is the center of the planet all I had to do was line that marker up with the base marker.

Now to go hunt the commander.
