Unlocking Wheels Through Progression

Just bought the game. Custom game, Star System Earth Drop Pod start.

I've built 4 wind turbines, a basic refinery, a basic assembler and two batteries.

How do I get the rover wheels to unlock though progression? I've built the landing gear and constructed a simple platform for a rover, yet the wheels will not unlock so I can place them. I also tried placing a large landing gear on my base platform to no avail.

Also i'm unsure how to power the rover. I do not see any type of power source for a rover in the progression section. Unlocked or locked.

Small reactor should do the trick for you, powering the rover.

The progression question I cant answer, as I have not yet tried the game after recent patch.

Problem is, you will need uranium. Which can not be found on planets.

Your goal most likely will be: Build a hydrogen ship (a rocket or something) and get to space!

People was making wheels of stones or wood, and here we need uranium? looks like it is not tought through....

As I said I have not tried this version yet. So there may be options :) Solar power. Or maybe a battery onboard which you can recharge from your base.

Landing gear unlocks wheels.
Not just placing but complete welding.

for power, it's enough if you build 1-2 small batteries and install a solar panel on your rover. They don't use as much power as ships, so you should be fine
