Only a Save/Load action helped.
If I turn it off, the 02Gen stops cracking ice. If I turn it on, the 02Gen starts up again and the hydrogen engine burns all of it's hydrogen (and producing 50% power) rather than filling up the internal tank.
Switching on and off again or grinding and rebuilding has no effect.
At the end, this engine is useless. wind and/or solar is way better and not so stupid designed like this engine.
Edit: And yes, the blasted engines will ONLY fill while running.
Frist you need to make sure that you don't use one conv. for ice and hydro.
Second, if you have few tanks in line and than engines, drain all hydro into the closest tank and disassemble empty tank.
Then disable drain mode. Your engines will start!
After that you can restore your hydro line.
the engines seem to burn hydro faster than a O²-Generator can produce. make sure you have some hydrogen in store
