Piston Wheel Problem
Hey folks, long-time player, first time forumer.

Been away from the game for awhile, so this may be a simple solution.

Building a rover vehicle, looking to put pistons attached to the wheels in order to raise and lower the wheels.

The sequence, attached to my rover, goes like this:

Heavy block -> Piston -> Heavy Block -> Wheel Suspension

It appears as though no power or control is available to my wheels. I can adjust all of the settings, but they have no propulsion or steering.

I have adjusted all of the settings that I could think of - turning steering and propulsion on and off - increasing the strength and power - decreasing the strength and power.

Something of note, though, is that I CAN steer and propulsion override them and they work. I just can't brake, steer, or drive normally with the WASD and Space keys.

What's the deal? What am I missing?

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions.

Unfortunately, wheel suspension blocks won't respect the WASD controls of a control point that's on a sub grid (either end of a piston/rotor, connected via connectors). There is a script for controlling wheel suspension on subgrids, but it normally isn't possible.

Thank you. It was a WHEEL problem for me *rimshot*

I'm not familiar with scripts - I think I'm just going to figure out how to drive using the manual override on the toolbar.

Thanks again.
I can uderstand if your aprehensive to try scripts out, but my advice is take the plunge early rather than late. They open up so many more options and most are really simple to use. This one is the one you would want and its set up steps are

Place Prog block
Enter control pannel hit edit
Hit workshop and select the script
Hit compile (let it compile)
Hit run

Done :)

I agree. Many of the best scripts on the workshop are simple to use and help out with problems like this a LOT!
