Projectors, the Build and Repair Mod Issues
I'm trying to build a vehicle in Creative mode using the BaR system and a Projector of the vehicle itself to rebuild systems completely shot off. However, if I have the blueprint exactly over the vehicle it says Out of Range. If I have it 1 block off in any direction it reads as though it's fine.

I have blocks next to the Projector to give the BaR someplace to start. Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

Oh, I know what's going on. When the projection is PERFECTLY aligned with a completed construction, there is no place for unbuilt blocks to go, hence the error. When you're doing a repair projection, this is EXACTLY what you want to see. It is fine, leave it.
Set the checkmark to keep the projection after the build is complete.

If you must test, then go grind/shoot something off. Presto, instant repair projection.

I would ask the Mod author and read the comments on the item page first to know more on what is going on.

We must connect the Bp to the projector or to the station/ship where the Projector is to be able to start building.

I use merge blocks to connect Blueprint to the Projector, too

If you forget to check 'keep projection' before aligning.. turn off BnR system and grind 1 block then align projection, check 'keep projection' and turn BnR back on. If 'keep projection' is not checked the projector will just clear the projection once it's complete or if aligning to a completed build.

Sounds simple enough. I'll have to try this, thanks.

Tested this just now and it was as you said. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for the assist.

The next step is to blueprint the completed ship with the repair projector all set up. It'll save time later on when that one eventually meets a fate that mere repair can't cover and/or something happens to the repair projector. This way, you can rebuild and be ready to fly, without having to redo settings and such.

One of the Cardinal Rules be that "Stuff happens, it's just a matter of when and how bad you weren't prepared"

when it says its out of range that just means its not touching the projector.. if you build it out of range it will probably fall apart half way built. what i do is make it one block higher and then add an armor block to hold it up.
