Dedicated server setup, need help
Ok, so... I set up a server and it works and all.
It's just not what I want.

I want to play the never surrender scenario with a buddy of mine. (Eartlike planet).
I cannot find that option anywhere in the server window. Only survival or creative.

Also, when I spawn on my server, I can choose several options (like the medical bay, which spawns you on a fully built base.) I also do not want that, just the drop pod and be dropped next to my buddy.

Does anybody know how to customize a dedicated server like that? Because right now the server exe is VERY limited.

The scenario cannot be run on a dedicated server. The only way to play it with others is as a local shared online game, set to 'private' or 'friends' and then invite your buddy to connect.

I cheesed it.

Started a no surrender scenario in single player.
Then quit before spawning.

Then edited the settings on that scenario in the main menu a bit.

After that I copied the (Mission01) folder from my savegame into the folder of the server's savegames.

After that I started it.

Now it shows up, its running AND i get the 'go to this location to start defending' quest.

So apparently it is possible.

Well apparently not.

After spending 50 hours getting into space, I flew to the marker... And there is nothing there. No base, no asteroids, nothing.

So the scenario doesn't start because there is nothing there.

So if you want to do the never surrender scenario, the only option still is to do it through a local save and then open it up to friends.

I just bought a dedicated server to host this scenario, among others. This sucks.

I run the Dedic at home in my second PC and I usually create my worlds Local, load / save and transfer that new save to my Dedic Saves folder.

It always worked but I did not tried with the Tuto worlds.

That is exactly what I did and the results I got are described above. So either I did it wrong or it doesn't work.

May need the game installed on the PC that runs the server to be able to use those "Tuto" saves, well I don't know so I may be mistaken.. I could try next time I run my Dedic but asking a SE programmer would the best, on their Support Portal or by Email.
