They're right, but to me more helpful, have you tried making sure you've got conveyors connected and powered (green lights), and make sure you have "throw out" enabled on the connector. If you want it to toss everything in your ship's inventory, you can also enable "collect all"
also the smart thing is to set a conveyor sorter just before the "ejector" to make sure it dumps the only stuff you want it to dump - and not like the entire stockpile of your parts from bases inventory ;P
the ejector itself (as a block) is meant only for small ship grids - if you want one on large grid then place a normal Connector on the large grid - then open it and select throw out on - and collect all - > but like i said put a conveor sorter too (set with app white list items like stone foer eg) otherwise it will dump literally everything out
