it works but is rather clunky.. i would like to figure out a better way as well ;o)
Honestly with all of the materials you could possess in this game (Even without mods) I am surprised there isn't actually a method of doing this already - A slider in the menu or something.
I am hyper-organised with everything else, or i have no wish to limit inventories etc like with mineral processing and manufacturing - Its just this one thing that causes me that little niggle
I can, like before they start filling up i can put say 10 bottles in there, but if i take a bottle out it fills up the gap with more liquid hydrogen, so even if i start with 100 bottles i will inevitably end up back where i started.
I only ever carry one bottle, never need anything more really, i have a simple asteroid base at the moment with a pressurized room with seats and the access points for the oxygen and hydrogen evaporators, so generally when i go to recharge my suit i top up the bottles too
..solution is dont carry EVERYTHING, ALL the time ;o)
Erm... this has nothing to do with this post, did you get confused or something?
If you're only using one bottle I would do as woods suggested and have a separate h2/o2 gen as a bottle filling station
That's what mods does for you, makes you forget stuff you should already know!
I guess i will have to hack out the processors and somehow replace them with tanks then.
Still though, would be handy having that slider i mentioned :/

Wish i could just learn code... bet theres a real easy solution to this xD
Why cant code in games like this just be as simple as 'set cargo capacity to 90%' ??? xD
Sometimes, it's good to have a whole o2 system isolated from the main production system by a sorter, just to fill bottles and various other life support.
Sometimes, filling tanks will take ALL of your ice, and leave you with no air in a hurry, so now if I'm going to be filling large tanks, I build 2 systems. One for making fuel, and another for life support.
So yeah, its not an issue of waste or limited resources, just having too much i guess.
I'll use the hydro tank setup for now till i look into it further though, but i prefer not to use them because in a sense i shouldnt have to, im having to redesign a whole chunk of my base now to fit them in so they are accessible through the pressurised area of the base. But in all honesty this is more of a quality of life thing than it is an issue, i like to keep bases small. The ships i build are absolute monsters, but they never produce their own resources other than ammunition so i manually refuel them anyway because i dont depend on automation for that (beats getting caught short because you forgot to double check) But obviously when im at my base i want things to be done 5 minutes ago xD
