I had no idea how much this impacts a survival game. I recently started a DS so that I could have the engine running without the graphic overhead, and having a persistent world running is fun.

But to the point, I wanted to make it a bit more of a challenge to acquire resources. I turned all the multipliers down to 1, except inventory which I set to 3.

This setup changed the entire dynamics, hydro ships that were fine with a 10 inventory would no longer fly as well, grinding, assembly, refining. I must say it makes the game of survival a bit more interesting. I would still like to see a few survival AI features but this helps.

Well the pure hydro ships are meant o be close range so no surprise there.
As for capacity - well yes you will need bigger ships, more storages to be operational, and ofc more refinieries, arcs and possibly assemblers - or just a few with speed mods.

Basisally setting the game for higher multipliers makes it way to easy. The real crunch is when you have set them all to 1 or below.

I hear ya. I have seen post in the past saying how much more difficult it was. Honestly I wasn't a believer until I tried it. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be with less than 1 or even inventory set to 1. At 3 inventory you only have 1200 mass available for personal storage, that fills up quick when you are building, or mining by hand.

Make decision making, and efficiency a bit more of a priority.

Now if we could only get a bit more AI challenges, or environmental challenges survival might just be truely that - survival :steamsalty: (I know wishful thinking). And yes, I have already upvoted the umteen suggestions, and ideas asking for that. Cheers

well the mining must be done via ship or via drone at first - ofc you can mine a bit just to get started but leter mining ships and welders are simply a must.

at the very first you can mine via starter ship but its capacity is very low so you must add some cargo boxes to it asap.
