Either way, tried to reduce your fuel consumption?
You'll always require alot of fuel depending on your weight with this gravity, unless you drill some ice on the way and have h2/o2 generators onboard go for short distances or rovers.
If you're flying with atmos.. keep adding batteries until you're satisfied... get your base to supply enough energy and it's fine.
Hydrogen is just way faster to refuel compared to recharging batteries in the end...
Edit: You can always change block inventory to increase hydrogen tanks up to x10 i think...
Just make sure they're all filled before starting.
Whenever you dock use this button to give them more possible input to charge.
Just make sure your base can supply enough, batteries need alot depending on the amount.
Also don't forget to use the same button again after undocking so they switch back to auto... or you have no power.
in space u should disable dampers while flying and activate it while mining
I can share the files with you or even reupload my updated version of the mod, if you'd like.
You want to specifically make a group for all the thrusters labeled "Backwards." Set up a group for them (I call it "Cruse Control - (Name of ship)") and turn that off when you're flying. You can leave the inertial dampers on when you do this - you NEED to leave that on in an atmosphere or the ship will stop trying to stay at the same altitude.
I also use the "cruise control" group in space rather than switching off Inertial Damping. You coast forward without spending fuel / energy, but using the cruise control means that you can change direction just by moving the crosshairs. The thrusters will fire just enough to cancel sideways motion relative to what you're pointing at, which (to me) results in a lot more natural "space flight" feeling movement than switching the dampers back on and correcting course while your ship does its best to come to a dead stop each time. Just remember to switch the Cruise Control thrusters back on when you actually *DO* want to stop.
