Basic Assembler "no connected inventories" help!

Hi all,
Just recently got the game - so bear with me, I'm probably doing something very wrong but I have spent hours trying to get my basic assembler to 'connect' to an inventory from the survival constructor / cargo container - even though both of the doors from the basic assembler and the 'inventory' I'm trying to connect it to are facing against each other. What am I doing wrong? Trying to do the second tutorial mission to get the mining outpost back in order, and for the life of me can't get the basic assembler to work.

Can you describe the situation a bit more? You can connect the Basic Assembler to the Survival Kit by just placing the large port doors against each other. The Basic Assembler has only one door but that's ok, as long as you have power you can access any connected inventory from any device.

However, you mentioned that this is the tutorial mission. Do you mean the "First Jump" or the "Learning to Survive" one? If it's the "Learning to Survive" and specifically there the task where you need to place down an assembler beside the refinery that's already there, then note that the task expects you to put down a full Assembler, not the Basic Assembler for the game to consider the task done. If you look at the floor beside the refinery you can see a ready-made spot that's *two* blocks long so just put the Assembler there so that the ports connect to the refinery. The full assembler size is 2 by 1 by 1 blocks so fills it nicely.

If you meant the "First Jump" and the "fix the damaged cruiser on the colony" then I must confess that I don't remember it containing any assembler related tasks. There was fix the battery and then fix the ship, but I could just have forgotten.

This is exactly what I'm doing. I tried repairing the basic assembler that was at the abandoned mine (which was already next to a cargo container) - which didn't work. I tried to grind it and rebuild it connected to the same cargo box with "no connected inventories" showing up once it's built, I tried grinding it and flying back to the initial asteroid outpost where I spawned and place it next to the survival kit (with doors against each other) with the same issue - nothing seems to work.

Will do that in a few - just need to sort some stuff out. Spent over two hours trying to get the basic assembler to work so need to AFK for a bit :P

And it's the second tutorial mission not the first. I.E. Not "first jump" (don't recall the name, but will add that in once I start the game up)
