Jetpack no longer works on planets? [Solved]
Can't confirm this for every planet, as I'm sure it's a gravity thing, but when I use the "Earth easy start" mode in custom games, the jetpack will no longer move upwards when I hit space. If I roll to the side, space then works. It's in creative mode so it's not like fuel should be an issue, as it's always full anyways. It's somewhat annoying, as even pressing the spacebar makes me go downwards, when simply not pressing anything I don't move.

Mods?

Maybe reset all keys to default from Options and I think we can do this in F1, too.

Create a new Empty world for a fast test to see if it works in this world, use the lone survivor or the Empty one.
Confirmed, it is a mod somewhere though I don't know which. My game doesn't run heavily modded, but something somewhere must edit the strength of the jetpack and its ability to move away from a planet's surface.

Cool. Thought so. I had a similar experience where a high g planet with vanilla jetpack behaved the same way. I think SE is coded so that jetpack braking has much greater force than when accelerating. This causes you to be able to hover in place, as you're technically braking to oppose the gravity pull, but when you go to move your acceleration is insufficient and you fall.

Any character mod (skins, inventory adjustments, walk/run speeds, etc) is likely to cause this. Gravity (at least natural gravity) is being applied twice to the engineer, so if they're using the old 1,600N thrust value (which is highly likely) than they simply lack enough thrust to rise unless you're at such an angle that two axis are in use.

It's pretty much as Burstar has said. Jetpacks can provide, by default, 5x thrust for their dampeners.

Cool, I will mark as solved with solution post. :fix:
