Atmospheric thrusters just stopepd working (Solved)
So my small atmospheric ship crashed, I built it back together and now my thrusters refuse to work. They have power, the cockpit has control over them, but it is not like the ship is too heavy, I don't even get a particle effect or something.

Edit: I just had to save and load again. I didn't want to try this since I was in multiplayer, but this fixed it.

If they dont work it means you dont have enough power for them or you dont have enough thrusters to lift the ship. Atmo thrusters dont have the bugs of the hydrogen thrusters and engines.

Notes:

Thrusters turned off is same as no power.

Batteries in recharge (should NEVER use this) means not enough power.

Mining will increase mass of ship meaning you need more thrust.

Basically go through everything that can affect power and double check mass to thrust ratio

there is currently a glitch that glues ships to the ground randomly. Not sure what causes it, but it has been very destructive. Parachutes recommended

The only way to be glued to the ground is to be intersecting the ground because you hit it too fast or to have landing gears on.

EVERY issue of people with atmo thrusters not being able to lift off has been user error. Call Keen out on the thousands of bug that do exist. Not ones that dont exist.

Except in this case:

Which sounds to me like the 'mass not updating correctly' bug.

Except not in that case either. They sound like they had the hydrogen power glitch preventing anything from getting power. Restarting game DOES fix that.

As far as 'mass not updating' I assume you are referring to the HUD UI not showing current values and lagging behind by up to 30 seconds. That is just a UI sync bug and doesnt actually affect thrust at all.

If you're talking about how mass on the other end of pistons, rotors, and landing gears isnt taken into account I PERSONALLY consider that a bug, but keen considers it an intentional feature.

I've never seen atmos fail to work, EVER, that wasnt user error or another known bug that has nothing to do with atmos.

Atmos were the only thrusters mentioned.

And? I never mentioned any other type of thruster. I said hydrogen POWER. If your atmo thrusters are powered by hydrogen engines then they wont work if they have no POWER because the hydrogen engine has initialization bugs. Them restarting did not fix their atmos, it fixed their power

You are assuming that the person was using hydros on an atmo craft, while dismissing the probability that they added too much weight, then removed the weight and still failed to fly because there is a bug (which has been reported) where the grid weight doesn't always update right.
