copy paste not working (fixed)
for some reason i cannot for the life of me copy, cut, and paste anything. When i try to copy something it says "copy operation has failed" and nothing happens. I use CTRL+B to load up a blueprint and press CTRL+V and nothing pops up.

im on a empty world, not asteroids or anything. Block limits are off and enable copy/paste is on in the settings. Idk why it wont work honestly.

edit: im also playing with mods and will load up a completely vanilla empty world to see if its a mod problem.

edit 2: i have loaded up a completely vanilla empty world, still wont let me copy, cut or paste anything and im still getting the copy operation failed error message

edit 3: seems to have fixed itself

You have to copy something first before it will work. Point at something and press CTRL+C (copy) or CTRL+X (cut). A prompt should appear when you use CTRL+X letting you know it's being removed but being placed in the clipboard which is the computer's / windows clipboard where things are stored that you copy. You have to have something copied first before you can paste. Once you have something copied or cut you can use "Create New From Clipboard" in the blueprints screen, it's one of the buttons on the top left above the list and thumbnails and I think it's also on the bottom right in the blueprints screen.

In creative once you have something copied you can paste it right away with CTRL+V.

CTRL+C/X/V are actually windows commands for Copy/Cut/Paste (if you didn't already know that) that also work in the game.
You have to have something copied first.

i had this problem before but i forgot how i fixed it, i remember I was doing it incorrectly as he described, when you copy and item you do ctrl B
.... then you must WAIT until the blueprints screen pops up, it will pop up when its ready, when it does, you need to press the copy to clipboard button on the Blueprints popup.......
then WAIT................. for it to load........... once it loads it will show inside a green box for you to place in your world...... to place it into your world you just simply click the left mouse button just like you were to place a block......... there is no ctrl V or anything like that
ctrl X will delete an item out of your world

There is a setting in the advance world settings to enable or disable the copy/paste function.
Load Game > Select the game (Save) > Edit Settings (Button at top left) > Advanced:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1956482437

Make sure the checkbox is filled in.
