Mirroring a half built ship?
So I forgot to turn on mirror mode [kind of].
I was not sure how big the first side needed to be so I started building so that I could get an idea.
By the time I found what I needed I had already built almost half the ship.

Now I just need to get the other half built to match the first [exact specs]., but I do not remeber everything that I did on the first half.

Once this is done (so they are just joined by a line of single blocks that is 17 blocks long) I can start on the center of the ship.

Can someone tell me if there is a cheat wya to do this?

Press N to turn on mirroring mode. act like your going to place a new object on center and cycle M to have it centered the way you want.

Engineer > You messed up! Now it's too late! ;)

Sadly you will have to REadd all blocks with the mirror on this time :fix:

I feel your pain tho!

I made the Starship Troopers without the mirrors and I fixed it later :

Well is it a shape that you could copy/paste as the otherside using a merge block? If the top and bottom are the same then a merge block will bring them together. Once they are together elinminate the Mergeblock and there you go.......Best idea I have for you......Been where you are though it is annoying.

It is a set of 3 hangars with docking port on the side.

Well if the tops and bottoms are to look the same on both the left right and top bottom then my idea will work.

The trick is you have to copy the side you have add the merge block in first to a good easy location. Then you can use the copy feature to move it into place but I found a ship is easier. This is also how you can get multiple rotors/pistons to work on the same grid. Learned that trying to make a drill rover.

GL hope this helps sorry if it falls short.

not even close

Space Engineers Toolbox lets you dublicate your half ship and mirror it. Then you can go back into the world and copy/paste it together.
Beware, the toolbox needs to be on the same version as your SE world.

I just thought of a mod if someone can make it

A Mirror Projector

It will project the mirror of any bp you have.

Got it!

There are 3 presets we can select so I recommend you to try in a copy of your world first.

Select the ship in the world save, click the Mirror button on the right above the ship "stats" to see the presets mirror positions, selected the last one = mirror on the edge

And I did it with a completed ship so :Finger2:

I did not noticed and I have it ;)

So I just have to add 1 block to each edge so that I have something to cut off later.
Thanks
