Maybe share your ship on the Workshop so members can try.

OR

Share some screenshots = that will give us more clues.

Usually when ship is uncontrollable = it's a bad concept using rotors and pistons.

So recently I some how activated my thrusters and propelled myself through space at 100+m/s and could stop. I've looked around and tried a few things to "a" stop my ship and "b" save my newly crafted ship into the blueprint board before it was lost in space forever.

1st-Find your way to a control panel and make sure you havent accidently turned on "thrust override". This will leave them on regardless if you turn them on or off. Your settings for manual control of your thrusters should read "toggle block {on}" and "thrust override {disabled}".

2nd-Try turning off or removing/deconstructing all sources of power and rebuilding/ replacing them.

3rd-If you have a flight seat, control station or anything of the sort, try removing/ deconstructing that as well and replacing it. I recently did that and it defaulted all my controls and inputs for groups. Also ensure that the seat/cockpit you are in has the "Inertia dampeners" and "control thrusters" box checked. otherwise you will have no control over them whilst piloting.

4th-If you already have your ship saved on the clipboard, copy and paste a new one, while youre not moving/jetpacking through the air, and it will respawn motionless. Then you can go in and mess with the controls and do whatever.

5th-If youre stuck in your ship zipping through time and space and havent saved it yet sit still and use these controls to save th ship first and than delete it so that you can stop.
"ctrl+c" this will copy your ship and populate a new one emmediatley. Once it pops up press "f10" to open your clipboard. Select "Create from clipboard" and you should see a new ship populate on your clipboard. it may or may not have an image populate depending on how close you are to the ship. Once youve done that "esc" out until you are back to your normal screen and press "ctrl+x" to delete your ship. Then you will be free to slow down, open up your clipboard and paste a new copy of your ship.

6th-Other simple remedies can be saving and reloading, restarting your game, and deconstructing and rebuilding your thrusters if you can get to them. I found that if you turn off your inertia dampeners "z" you can maintain pace with your ship without being flung around with the cost of increased difficult controls while jetpacking. Small price to pay in order to save your ship.

Feel free to leave your fixes and debugs here!

You bring up a good point with the pistons. I did attempt to use one on my ship but whilst trying to move around with the ship found out my thrusters weren't working and as soon as i deleted the piston my ship took off

You havent by chance got an "atificial mass" block on it? Maybe inside a gravity field?

Because if so you have accidently created a gravity drive. The mass gets pulled by the field, and because it connected to your ship it drags it along for the ride :)

Sometimes rotors and pistons can create phantom "internal forces" that shouldnt exist but they do. If you do have rotors/ pistons try removing them or just playing with the angle/dissplacement and see if that stops it :)

It's just a bad concept or broken Mods or bugged world, imo.

You could share your ship next time it happens and me or a member will try.

Hi, just create a new forum discussion where you will share your world so me and Veteran players can help you.

__________

Note

We lock +3 months old discussions because the game is not the same after a update where old disscussions may contain false information, discussions that don't have any activity so no new posts since 3 months. also to avoid community reports about "Necroing old" and it is in the forum rules added to pinned green messages.

Never be shy to create a new forum discussion, one problem at a time so all players can help on one idea/problem per discussions that matches the game version.
