You could also build a welder ship, but... y'know. Your call.
Well I don't know either but @VanGoghComplex is correct. I believe it is one of the values in the sandbox.sbc file.
What you could do is to create an empty world with 1x inventory and backup those files then change it to 10x and diff the two files. You should find the value rather quickly.
That said, @Van is also correct. The solution to running back and forth is to use some engineering to solve the problem. Sounds like you need to would benefit from a welder ship or perhaps you could extend some conveyors and put a cargo access closer to your ship?
For me personally Realistic inventory settings are the only way to play. They force you to be creative. For example, with only 400L of storage you'll find that you cannot grind down more than a single armor block without spilling parts everywhere let alone a Large Atmospheric Thruster.
This forces one to come up with a solution other than hacking the world files.

I always get a kick out of these "Survival" YT series. They play on 10x or more inventory. They use modded speed modules that allow the refinery and assembler to operate an near instantaneous speed. They use an inventory management system that produces whatever parts they need automatically. And they use the nanobot mod to magically weld up everything they construct.
I understand that they are making videos and don't want them bogged down with tedious things but in the process they've eliminated all the challenges which Survival mode presents and that require engineering to solve. They might as well just play Creative.
OP, if 10x inventory is not sufficient I seriously doubt that 15x will satisfy you.
EDIT
Try this with copies to avoid messing with your original save.
I hope you're able to find what you're looking for so the game can be as enjoyable of an experience as possible for you regardless of what anyone else says or thinks.
Anyways some guy shows up and took no damage from my turrets and started building my unfinished blocks in my base, he was not the host and he can fly rediculously faster than vanilla. I asked him why do you cheat and he said because he was bored while waiting for assemblies. So I told him, well thanks to you this server has one less person and I left. So now I'm doing the same thing but on SP... but I noticed a HUGE difference between 10x and 15x and I just wanted to build my base faster than Vanilla, but not as fast as Creative... Pretty sure I'm not spoiling the fun if I just increase to 15x
The point you seemed to miss is that there is an easy way and a smart way to accomplish the same thing.
If you want to chose the easy way then so be it. But I'm betting I can tear down the lander and move all its components underground on 1x inventory faster than you can with 15x by hand.

Say what you want about Joe and I can say plenty but he does make a valid point. Why stop at 15x inventory? Why not increase the engineer's inventory to 10,000 x and you can carry enough components to build practically anything you can imagine?
The point I was trying to make which should be obvious is that you don't need to run back and forth clearing out your inventory AND you don't need 15x inventory.
You can accomplish grinding down the lander with a little ingenuity even on 1x.
Edit: You can hack the world file and you might actually beat me by a few minutes but I'm compatible with any server I can find even one running 1x1x1x.
