How much RAM does a dedicated server need?
Hey guys,

I was thinking about investing into a rented dedicated server (Nitrado,Zap-Hosting etc.), the cost will be shared with two friends.
The server will be small to medium size, maybe up to 16 players.
My major concern is the amount of RAM the game needs.
How much do you recommend for a server of this size? We are planning to play with planets.

Minimum 16 Gb of RAM needed and you will have to add more if more builds (grids) in the world.

As much as you can afford.

However, I would advise against paying any monthly fee to host a server for this game. The dedicated server application is generally neglected by the developers, and has a large number of considerable bugs that will prevent an enjoyable experience. If you insist, plan in performing manual server maintenance at least once a day for the sake of your players.
