Copy and Paste is turning the enemy ships to mine
Hello!

When I play in creative and when I use the copy and paste system on a enemy ship, it automatically becomes mine. I think in the past the ships would stay hostile but now its boring and i cant set up an enemy army ...

Thx for your help!

I don't know if this problem has already been solved, but if you press alt + F10 and go to admin tools, there is a check-box that says " Keep original ownership on paste". If you check it, then when you copy an enemy ship (e.g space pirates) and paste it, then it will still be a space pirates ship.

Hope this helps!

If you want to copy enemy ships in you will have to go into the control panel, select everything and then transfer it to Space pirates or another enemy faction

But why does it not stay as an enemy ship as usual. I dont know why they change that stuff ... It does take more time now than just copy and past.

If they spawn in as enemy ships you will have zero control over the ship you've spawned in and they will just shoot the hell outta you.

Thats what i want. I dont get it why they change it. I usually copy one enemy ship and spawn it like 3-4 times and then i fight it. but now they arent enemys when i copy and past them ...

Yeah, I noticed this starting a couple of months ago but kept quiet about it hoping for it to be fixed.
It’s made it very difficult to set up battles in creative now, as copied units will attack each other when before they would not.

Hopefully the devs know about it and consider it a bug, not a feature and fix it at some point in the future, fingers crossed.

Well you are in creative mode...Did you think about adding a timer block that would turn everything on after you turn it off and change the faction control of all the blocks?

Yeah it did cross my mind, but having to save everything all over again with timers, when my blueprints list is already crammed full of things is a very long-winded work-around for something that used to be a feature of the game.

Plus, it means you have to rush placing everything when it’s nice to be able to take the time to precisely setup every unit and check that they are functioning properly.

Also, when fortifying existing pirate bases to make assaults more challenging, the existing defences don’t take kindly to a new structure.

The way I used to do it was to paste something in somewhere random, check the settings, switch its faction then copy it to the desired area where everything else was.

Be mindful that when you paste workshop creations with this option enabled, the creation will not belong to you. it will either become an enemy ship or be owned by nobody.
