What the hell is wrong with the block placement?
I returned after a long hiatus, played a bit with Medieval Engineers and bounced of the ridiculous placement method, then turned to good old Space Engineers... And it's got the same ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ placement method!
Where's the damn old method, in which you could relatively painlessly and quickly build what you wanted, now the rotation resets every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ missed block, missing blocks is super easy because of magical "imma stick to this now, or just randomly hang in space" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

You had one job... Improve... Yet it's only gotten worse.
Planets are still ♥♥♥♥. Cyberdogs are still ridiculous. Oxygen is still annoying, until after 5 minutes and then you won't even remember it's there.

Rotors, gears and such are still crazy buggy, and connectors and attachment blocks can still blow you up...

Seriously... Did you only add ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spick and span to all blocks?

Normally the rotation stays no matter what, maybe you have that "auto-align" = T turned on? Because that usually just reset everything to the wrong orientation, so I always played with it off. At least that was improved that it remembers the setting now the first time you turn it off. ;)
It was particularly nasty when placing two pistons to be merged together, it had slightly rotated the second one 90 degrees, causing the whole thing to blow up randomly, most often during world load.

I'll try that, thanks!

Thats not rly the problem here.... the real problem is much MUCH less range in block placement.... THATS THE REAL PROBLEM HERE.... AT ALL... I´m happy that I have all my blueprints already created... This new range sux at all.... no fun to design anymore... Oo wtf.

kill this nice game.... just move forward... the direction is correct for this goal.

Range to place blocks by hand is decent mid-range, could be longer for easier building.
But placing blocks from cockpit build mode absolutely useless, is it even shorter range than by hand?!? If a welder is right in front of the cockpit, it obstructs block placement when you would be close enough to place a block. Why not use the welder tips as a point of origin for block placement?
And blocks should be placed in front of whatever direction your astronaut or ship is facing, and not the direction the camera view is turned - that makes no sense (and causes even more difficulty)!

The auto-align off seemed to remedy the issue somewhat, yet it all seems more painful than before. The short range meaning you're constantly adjusting back and forth to be able to place, for no real "gameplay" advantage. There's only negatives, no balance or other reasons I can see... Why then?
