NEWBIE QUESTION:::: How to put blueprint in survival?
I made a basic mining ship in creative, works great, but i want to build it at survival mode.
I saw anyone using a blueprint in youtube, but the option that he use don't exist.
Then the question is in title.

You need to build a projector. Then, from control panel, you can load your blueprint, and build it from the ghost projection.

Unfortunately, welding from a blueprint in Survival is basically broken right now.

EDIT: The last update seems to have made blueprint welding better.

Open the blueprint, double click it, then press ctrl - v I believe.

Make sure you are creating a blueprint to begin with. You do so by looking at a functional block (not armor, conveyors, glass, etc) the part turns yellow to highlight it and press Ctrl + B and the game will pause briefly and I believe the F10 blueprint screen appears auto and the name of your grid will be there.

From there, in Creative mode if you have copy paste turned on in the world options, you can click the blueprint and click OK to copy it to the clipboard. Then as suggested above you press Ctrl + V to create a "ghost" image of the grid, then left click to paste.

In survival mode, you do the above in the creative map to make the blueprint at first, load the survival map, build or go to the projector of the correct size (large grid vs small grid - yes it matters, the game will complain if wrong) and click the projector in the Terminal screen, Control panel area (The "K" menu) and you will see a part to add a blueprint, select the grid you want to build and click spawn projection, ensure it is powered of course. You can adjust the "ghost" image in the terminal screen or program a Control Station, Cockpit, etc with the various adjustments too and then use the hotbar to move it.

After that, simply build it like it were just the frame after you normally placed it in survival, adding the components it needs and such.

There are two modes in the projector, one that shows the entire image and the other that only shows the buildable blocks of the image and it changes as you build so it is a little cleaner that way but it is personal pref. That option is a check box inside the Control Panel, Terminal screen for the projector.

P.S. if you are wondering how to build a small grid from a large grid, use a rotor in between the large grid and the small projector. The reason is when you place the rotor you can "Add small rotor head" or however the game words it, then place the small projector after the small rotor head and you can then use that projector to spawn small grids from a large grid like a capital ship or station.

Pro tip - If this is your first time using the projector, place a cheap armor piece on the actual projector and don't worry about welding it, then spawn your ship. Reason being, once you build up your ship it will be attached to the projector as part of the ship so grind away the trash block connected to the projector to make your grid dynamic and done.

If you want to skip screwing with the projectors at all in survival mode, you may also make the blueprint as I said above, then in the map you wanna paste the ship into... press Alt + F10 to pull up Space Master Mode. From here click the check box that says Enable Creative Tools. Then leave that screen and press only F10 for the blueprints... find your grid, click it then OK... then Ctrl + V to paste it like it were creative mode. Done... now make sure if you wanna still play like it is survival - don't forget to press Alt + F10 to get back to Space Master Mode and disable "Creative Tools" check box (its in the top right of the default menu when you first get to that screen. Then close the window and you are back to survival restrictions - needing the components to build again, needing to weld it up, etc.

I hope this helps you.

I was mistaken. Trying to find the "sweet spot" where you can actually weld a ghost block is intensely frustrating, and seems impossibe for some internal blocks. It might be easier with a welder ship, but right now hand welding a blueprint is a nightmare. The game also always lists one of the compenents in red, indicating that you don't have it in your inventory, when this isn't the case.

Guess I'll be using the Space Master mode for the forseeable future. Thanks for the info.

Nooooooop.

They work with station or ship welders but not the hand welders.

ALT+F10 opens menu where u can activate Creative Mode checkbox and then u can use Copy Pastec shortcuts CTRL+C CTRL+V.......same way you can put your creation into blueprint section.

If you want to build without cheating u need projector.
But you can NOT put creation to blueprint without cheating with ALT+F10
