Setting up automatic parts production but with limits?
I know we have sorters. I know that you can set an assembler on a looping routine where it will continually churn out parts and dump in the nearest container. My question is if it is possible (with minimal or no scripting) to have the assembler only churn out parts until you have say 50,000 in the system before stopping further production. Such that I could have a small cargo container filled with each main component, connect those containers to my main system for pushing and pulling, but without the assembler continually churning out more parts after that container becomes full (pushing those parts to other inventories in the system).

Using sorters I can keep an assembler producing plates, but it will keep producing plates even after the attack cargo container is filled. I want to have a way to turn off or on an assembler based on the number of a given thing being in the system so that I can keep a healthy supply of components but not have this system just exhaust my supply of all ingots.

The sections your interested ( in guide ) are:
  • Installation
  • Quotas and Quota Panels
  • Item Sorting
  • Refinery Management
  • Assembler Management

How do I set an assembler to do a looping routine on a specific product without limits? Is it built in or do I have to script that

Read the guide, restone303. I haven't used "TIM" enough to know. I use Isy's Inventory Manager (IIM):

If you choose IIM there's an in-depth guide for that as well linked in the description.
The IIM link is for you, too, BurlsoL.
