If you have H2 tanks that are set to stockpile on the base they will pull all H2 and use o2/h2 gennys to convert ice until they are full.
So yah turn the interia dampeners OFF.
Another thing using hydro could be hydrogen power generators - as long as there is one ON somehwere then it WILL suck H2 from any source aviable - this might include docked ships so when not used you should turn them all off (and i mean the hydrogen power generators that make electicity - not the H2/O2 generators that make the fuel/oxy).
Actually both - Whenever you land (both LG and connecors or even merge blocks) just turn off the dampeners - otherwise you will end up wastng fuel.
And yes setting the tanks on stockpile will prevent loosing fuel as well.
Still, check for engines running, or tanks on the base that want filling.
well ive never had the issue of them using hydro when idling - aka hanging in space for eg - in those condition they would only use fuel when nudged by other ship for eg - and they do so only when dampeners are on - in order to stop the ship. Otherwise no fuel usage whatsoever.
The idle light you mention is only the sign for the user that they are connected to active source of fuel - aka turn off the tank and the engines will go dark - but they dont use any fuel when idling - unless you leave the docked ship with damepers on - as mentioned a bit above.
The same goes for Ion thrusters - they dont use any power when idle. (keep in mind dampeners off) - Basically the blue glow is just a sign that the thruster has power and its operational (aka in good health- aka undamaged). So its merely informational in nature. Cheers
i have it docked by connector yes, the large h2 tank on base is full and stays full (fuel hasnt been touched for weeks), the h2 Genny on base is off (running wind turbines and batts is enough atm), the other vehicle (attached by connector) is full on power and hydro and has ice loaded up into storage - it seems to function as expected even with hydrothrusters for extra boost.
all vehicle connectors are setup to route ice into vehicles and the goods out of vehicles onto base so...
Here goes!
Thanks again
