Workshop is a true trash can...
It's make more week i search in the Workshop to try to find mods to test or to put in game, but in navigating into the workshop i view it's a true pain to try to find something...,

half of the thing in the workshop are thing with no picture with nothing writing or only test writing..., beeeeeep, bad thing, put a section for the test and the moddler need to make her test here,

more other are obsolete from long long time, they don't work at all, the moddler have go aways from more years, or other moddler put more mod they don't work or obsolete or ect..., but they let's it there because they ask money to the people...,

i have taking a look by curiosity in the section "obsolete" and such as i have thinking, they have not a single mods in it..., now it's neer all the workshop they are obsolete...,

they mush have someone they take care of this such as they make in post an move the post if they are not in the good place or move it if they are obsolete are too old, ect...,

they have success to make me stop trying to find mods for the game, i don't love searching into trash can..., i hope one day on all the game someone will clean the trash can...,

they have good mod i know, but searching more day in a trash can to try to find a thing we have view 5 day before but not able to retrieve it in all the garbage it's frustrating ha ha ha...

Personally I found many great mods, the real problem are the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ search tools from steam.

This

No sorting on stars count, no sorting on last update timestamp

...it could be so simple....

Only the Devs can set a Workshop item "Obsolete" and the only way would be to share the ones you find with the Devs so they can change the Tag for Osolete item.

The SE community is big and there for a few years so why we see a lot on the Workshop.

As a Workshop author = I keep all my old items cause some members have asked me to, those old items can be loaded in the Lagacy game version we can install with the Deluxe DLC.

+

Some are playing the No Planet version and my old Blueprints can be pasted in, also here some have asked me to keep those because they run SE 32 bit, DX9 only with their low end Laptop.

And I will not delete old ones from the Worshop especially for those players.

NOTE

I recommend :

Realistically, without some kind of moderation or depreciation, this is the inevitable result of the workshop. And, for the reasons Dan has mentioned, you can't really automate that without causing issues for some people, which further gets compounded by the game not being entirely friendly with trying to use a workshop item which no longer exists.

All that could really be done, at least short term, is to add an "Outdated" or "Out of Date" flag to the workshop. This flag can't be set by players, but applies automatically to anything already on the workshop when a new version launches. That way when a new version gets uploaded the flag gets removed.

It won't clean the workshop, nor do I even know if it can be done, but at least it gives some indication as to what's "current" and what isn't. Not that all "out of date" items would be incompatible.

Agree, something has to be done!

You got to remember that the workshop is a public place where people share what they have made . It can be your opinion that some stuff isnt "good" or is "trash" but people have spent time on things. Not everyone can make a great mod pack with images and big game changes same goes for peoples blueprints . I understand that some stuff can be anoying however everything can be considered "Art" or important to anyone no matter what it is removing it would be insulting to what the workshop really is .

I will surely add a notice about this in my next report to Keen Team but would help to add this to the community Votes on the Portal = I will not be alone asking about this :selike:
