How to make a timer block send a message?

I have an automated drilling rig setup, complete with timer blocks and all. I have a final timer block made to reset the pistons, but was wondering how it can ping me similar to the unknown signals dropped every half hour or so.

Perhaps there's a way to trigger sound blocks on *another* grid through antennas?

Not possible with a timer block. For one thing it's not possible to display a message with a timer block. Second, I'm not sure a timer block can be timed for a half hour or more (I could be wrong). You would need a programmable block and to write a script for this and that requires knowledge of C# programming language. I have made several attempts to learn C# and how to use the programmable block but give up shortly after I start looking in to it. I haven't found any really good tutorials for it. Perhaps an experienced player *might* help you if you can't figure it out yourself?

You could have the timer set to turn on a beacon that has a 'Hey I'm done!" message on it. It could also turn on a soundblock so it makes an annoying noise when you get close enough too if you want.
